*********************
This file MUST be in your "CONFIGFILES" Directory and called DIZ.CFG
the afterup.rexx file must be in the MEBBSNEY:Arexx directory.
** PLEASE DO NOT MODIFY THE AFTERUP EXECUTABLE **
You MUST be using Mebbsnet 1.54 or Higher
You MUST use the new DMS by PARCON software (2.04+..extracts
FILE_ID.DIZ's from DMS archives)
You must have all the archivers listed somewhere in your current path
>>> What is this?? <<<
This little Gizmo extracts the FILE_ID.DIZ from archives and postd
them in the long description..
>>> History: 15 JUN 94 <<<
The original code was written by Larry Cloud. It seemed to work for
him for awhile and it then stopped working. I took on the task of
continuing the project. Heres the changes that I made.
- Added a config file, so the arexx executable shouldn't have to be
touched
- Made the software case sensitive to detect upper/lower case files
- changed the processing directory to a seperate area to avoid
potential file deletion problems.
- Added DMS support
- modified the code to allow more than one line to SAFELY use the
script at the same time.
- Cleaned up a few of the prompts.
*NOTE*
This only works with MebbsNet vers 1.54+ is because I had to convince
Bill to make a minor change to the BBS software. If this change
results in problems in other areas I will most likely be burned at the
stake <Grin>.
Heres a description of the DIZ.CFG entrys...
LINE 1 - FULL PATH TO LONG DESCRIPTIONS AREA THIS MUST BE THE
SAME AREA THAT IS USED BY THE SYSTEM FOR LONG DESCRIPTIONS!!!
LINE 2 - PATH TO TEMPORARY UPLOAD DIRECTORY AS DEFINED IN MEBBSCONFIG
(THE AREA WHERE ALL THE "TMP" DIRECTORYS EXIST)
LINE 3 - PATH WHERE THE ARCHIVERS WILL DO THEIR PROCESSING YOU MUST CREATE
THIS AREA IT CAN EVEN BE IN RAM..I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT A
DIRECTORY IS CREATED SPECIALLY FOR THIS.
Enjoy! and if you have any suggestions for improving this utility. Let
me know and I will attempt to add them.
